Col. Lewis Lee Millet Sr, the man who fought in 3 different wars and gave the word skullfucker a whole new meaning.
When it appeared that the U.S. would not enter World War II, young Millett, who was serving with the National Guard and eagered to fight, hitchhiked to Canada and enlisted in the Canadian Army instead in 1941. Assigned to an artillery unit, he was sent to the UK, where he served as an anti-aircraft radar operator in London during the Blitz. By the time he arrived in the UK, the U.S. had entered the war; Millett transferred to the U.S. Army in 1942.
From there, he saw action in North Africa, received the Silver Star for driving a burning ammunition-filled half-track away from Allied soldiers, jumping to safety just before it exploded. He also managed to shoot down a German fighter plane.
Next, he took part in the invasion of Italy at Salerno and fought in the Battle of Anzio. It was at this time that the U.S. Army discovered Millet's 1941 desertion; he was court-martialed, convicted, ordered to pay a $52 fine, and stripped of his leave privileges. Only weeks later, he was given a battlefield commission to second lieutenant.
After WW2, Millet found himself in Korea as a co. commander for E 2nd BN/27th ID. During an assault on an enemy hill, his platoon was pinned down by enemy fire. With no fucks to give, Millet stood up and began charging the hill with his bayonet, hand grenades and fighting the Chinese with his bare hands (even though he was wounded by an enemy grenade). His men soon followed, fixed bayonets and captured the hill. Millet his credited for leading the most complete bayonet charge by American troops since Cold Harbor.
For this he was awarded the Medal of Honor. On the same month, he was also awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for leading another bayonet charge.
Years later, Millet went to Vietnam as a military advisor for the Phoenix Program and also help found RECONDO (an elite school that bred more hardfucks). He Retired in 1973 as a Col, along with receiving 4 Purple Hearts, 3 Legion of Merits and 1 Bronze Star. #stayzero #oldschoolkiller
