Ever been so hardcore that the enemy congratulated you on it? Lt. Dominic McCarthy was an Australian officer who already had plenty of experience in slaying bodies in places like Gallipoli, Pozieres and Bullecourt. On August 23, 1918, McCarthy was commanding his company during an attack near Vermandovillers, France when the battalion on his left flank was held up by a heavily fortified German trench full of machine guns. McCarthy simply jumped out of his position and launched a one man attack against the enemy. Running under heavy enemy fire, he reached the first MG nest, killing everyone in it. He then continued his rampage, taking out five machine guns, killing 22 Germans and capturing 50 more. He had secured 500 meters of German trench by himself. The Germans were so impressed with his fighting that when they surrendered they patted him on the back and told him what a good job he'd done sending Huns to the afterlife. He was awarded the Victoria Cross for his actions and went on to live a full life despite the overwhelming requests of young females wanting to carry his child to preserve his hardfuck genes. #ww1 #aussie #nofucks #stayzero #zerofoxtrot
