Today, we wanted to highlight a true American hero, Brigadier General Francis X Hummel. Regarded as a 'man of honor' by those close to him, his extensive love for his men and his country would grant him one of the most audacious military careers in recent history.
As a Force Recon Marine, his leadership and photoshop skills would be tested in the jungles of Vietnam, Northern Laos and Southern China. Places like Granada, Panama and Iraq weren't spared by his courage or confirmed enemy kills. By everybody's ninth birthday, black ops and illegal arms funds became familiar terms, unless you were some 33 year old fuck faced Chief of Staff nerd.
His extensive list of decorations include 3 Purple Hearts, 2 Silver Stars, the Navy Cross and the Medal of Jesus.
However, Hummel began to crumble within upon seeing the way his country treated the men who fought for it. With the government not giving a shit and a back logged VA, he took matters in his own hands.
In June 1997, Hummel and a group of selected men stormed Alcatraz prison and took hostages with the intentions of liquefying San Francisco and the hippies within with VX gas. After a series of unprecedented events which include wrecked Ferraris and prison breaks, a rescue op was launched. Aware of the countermeasures not standing a chance, and with full knowledge of the "we're up here, you're down here" tactic, the rescue force was almost wiped out. Luckily, two unsung heroes took initiative and continued with the mission.
Sadly, Hummel was killed by his own men at close range after they found out that money and crayons weren't at the end of the rainbow.
Despite his actions, he will always be remembered as the man who went above and beyond. #rip
