During WW2, Freddie Oversteegen (left) and her sister Truus both joined the Dutch Resistance at the ages of 14 and 16 respectively in order to fight back the German occupiers. When they rode their bicycles down the streets of Haarlem in North Holland, firearms hidden in a basket, Nazi officials rarely stopped to question them, since it was believed that the majority of the resistance was comprised of males. . They sabotaged bridges and rail lines with dynamite, shot Nazis while riding their bikes, and donned disguises to smuggle Jewish children across the country and sometimes out of concentration camps. . In perhaps their most daring act, they seduced SS Officers and other targets in taverns or bars, asked if they wanted to “go for a stroll” in the forest — and “liquidated” them with a gunshot to the head. . "When we joined, we told them we’d like to learn to shoot...to shoot Nazis. I then remember my sister saying, ‘Well, that’s something I’ve never done before!’ ” and they slayed Jerry happily ever after. #hardcore #badasswomen #ww2 #resistance #dutch #stayzero
