For all you builders out there. The VC were noted for their ingenuity and for making weapons in their jungle workshops with little to no machines. The VC used whatever materials they could scrounge—pipe, wire, old hinges, door lock mechanisms, metal bands, copper, brass, spent ordnance, scraps of steel or aluminum from downed aircraft, nails for firing pins, etc. Broken or incomplete firearms were repurposed or rechambered for whatever ammunition was most readily obtainable. They used to pre shape flat plates and braze them together. This Tommy copy was extremely devastating up to 30 yards, but due to the lack of rifling, any distance beyond that was useless since the bullet would tumble out of the barrel.
