In May 1941, during the Battle of Crete, 30 year old Sgt. Alfred Clive Hulme of the 23rd Battalion, (The Canterbury Regiment) 5th Brigade, 2nd Division, 2NZEF was awarded the Victoria Cross after personally stalking and killing 33 German snipers, wiping out a mortar crew, and clearing out a building full of barricaded Germans, all in a span of 8 days. He was wounded while stalking his 34th sniper and was evacuated from the island. His brother Harold Charles ("Blondie") Hulme, was killed while also fighting in Crete. Hulme's use of an acquired German parachutists' uniform during some of his stalking has occasionally been criticised by some historians claiming that it was "against rules of war"....but no one gives a fuck about that because on top of slaying Jerry, he also slayed tang. Bad ass all around #stayzero #zerofoxtrot #nz #sniper #ww2 #hero #slayjerry
