Got a lot of people lately inquiring advice about entrepreneurialism and small business. Tip 1: Bust your ass off for the right reasons. I'm not an entrepreneur, I'm only a regular guy busting my ass off everyday. I do it because I enjoy it and want to work on my own goals while also not fucking people over and staying true. Tip 2: Success is not measured by what others say it should be, it's measured by how far you've come when you look back. Just 3 years ago I was struggling with all kinds issues, lack of direction, trying to figure out on how to handle everyone who depended on me, facing responsibilities and demons. Dealt with addictions, depression, anxieties, waking up in the middle of the night thinking of the reasons why I should still be alive in the morning. I look back and see how things have changed for the better. Do I still struggle? Of course. Did I make it? Fuck no, still a long way to go. I thank my brothers and family who stood by me during those times...you know who you are. TIP 3: Get help and advice when you needed it from the right people. I can honestly say that I've had a good amount of help overcoming issues..but thats because I asked for it. If you ask for it, listen to the people who know and who matter. There is no room for the veteran tough guy bullshit attitude, in personal or business. Be humble about it and realize that you are human. TIP 4: Find balance and patience. Everyone wants to go from A to Z and skip the alphabet, or all nothing, 0 to 100, especially us veterans. Take your time with things and enjoy the ride. Rushing just makes you more prone to fuck up, get fucked over or both. If you need a break, take it. If you need to fuck off for a while, do it! No sense on running yourself to the ground to the point of losing sight of why you're doing it. Im guilty of that, between personal struggles, wrong mindsets, and business, its going on 6 years with no vacation or break and almost tore up a good marriage...balance, will apply more this time.
