Walked in our local post office and beyond the disgruntled workers, this plaque was proudly displayed on the wall. Sgt. Norwood with 3rd Bn, 1st Marines, during the Battle of Fallujah, 7 of his Marines were wounded and trapped in a house occupied by insurgents. Sgt. Norwood volunteered to rescue them and was killed in the process of locating the enemy. He sacrificed his life in defense of his brothers. All of the 7 Marines would survive.
