Spent the day with World War 2 Veteran Herbert Stern, born in Berlin to a Jewish family, escaping the Nazis and coming to the US, then joining the US Army 9th Infantry Division, where he fought in North Africa, Italy, Normandy, Battle of the Bulge, Ramegen, and all the way to the Elbe River. He liberated a slave camp in Germany, witnessing first hand the atrocities of the Nazis. He's 97 turning 98, married for 70 years and a true patriot. Nothing but respect and admiration.
